We have all read or at least heard about George Orwell's Animal Farm, the book that critiques the road from revolution to tyranny with the eloquence of allegory. What we may not know about is the true story behind Orwell's inspiration, a man named Gareth Jones, who risked it all to find the truth behind the closed curtains in USSR, and reported the horrors of a man-made famine in Ukraine.

The second movie in my quarantine watch-list is a biopic called Mr Jones directed by Agnieszka Holland. This movie is dedicated to the memory of the millions who lost their lives in the forced experiment of collective farming in Ukraine.
